The Totara Lodge Motel appropriately named by its wonderful Totara Tree, standing at the main entrance to the motel is a very nice and compact motel operation most suitable to all types of guests - Family Visitors, Corporate Travellers and the occassional tourst that ventures by. The business does well with great income and occupancy from just 6 units as the location of the motel is close to all of the towns amenities and near to most of the retirement homes and hospitals in the area. Good business comes from guests who are visiting friends and family. The managers apartment is a one bedroom unit with a nice kitchen and lounge with direct access to the reception office and to the laundry. The current business owners have been managing this property for a number of years now and have enjoyed their time at the Totara - but as for many it is time to move on. I recommend this business to couples that want to be kept occupied - but not too busy, with their efforts being rewarded by receiving a good income and way of life. First timers into the motel management game may be tempted with this one.
