About Us

Realestate.co.nz Ltd is the official online media company of the New Zealand real estate industry. The company provides a number of websites targeted to provide listings across the main categories of real estate. These websites are:

Realestate.co.nz Ltd is 100% NZ owned and operated and provides the most comprehensive selection of listing across all categories of real estate. At any one time over 110,000 listings are featured on these websites representing over 93% of all listings currently marketed by licensed real estate professionals (operating under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008). The website does not feature private sellers' properties.

Realestate.co.nz Ltd was established in 2005 and has consistently grown its traffic and market share to hold a very clear position as the most comprehensive website for real estate used by over 1,140 real estate offices to showcase their listings with a total viewing audience of over 400,000 unique visitors each month from within NZ and overseas (Source: Nielsen Online).

Realestate.co.nz Ltd is a commercial company jointly owned by The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) and Property Page (NZ) Ltd (PPL).

Chief Executive Officer - Alistair Helm

Alistair joined realestate.co.nz in March of 2006 and has lead the development of the website through that time. He holds a passion for the real estate industry, constantly seeing the opportunities that exist to support and grow the industry throught the adoption of new technology. His backround is as varied geographically as it is functionally having had roles in sales, brand management and general management in Europe, Australia and NZ.

Alistair has a passion for property - mainly from the perspective of DIY, many a time Alistair will be found spending the weekend lovingly restoring the 100 year old villa he and his wife own in Auckland. Like all timber houses, the DIY work is never ending, but the pleasure it brings is immeasurable.

Alistair also writes the Unconditional blog the impartial voice of the real estate industry, a broad ranging and engaging view of real estate matters.

 

Chief Operating Officer - Phillip Dunn

Phil's role is to steer the operational side of the business, bringing together the technical teams and operational processes so the expectations of both our customers (real estate offices) and the public are met. The site is a dynamic business that is serving enquiries every hour of every day meaning that Phil is often in demand night and day!

When he does get the chance, Phil likes to relax with his young family. In the summer it's all about spending time on the water where he is an aspiring legend on the wakeboard! During winter months it is all about skiing and snow sports.

 

Sales Manager - Jodi Cottle

Jodi is responsible for customer management, ensuring that the many and varied customers that the website serves are supported and motivated to take full advantage of the websites.

Raised just outside of Levin on a large dairy farm, Jodi spent time living in Wellington, Auckland and London. Jodi developed a passion in property from quite an early age and her passion naturally progressed into the Finance Industry in Mortgage Advising where she practiced for three years in Auckland and two years in London.  Jodi is the Author of ‘Young & Singles Guide to Property Investment’, an informative book for first time buyers.

 

Training & Education - Kerry Kissane

Kerry is responsible for the education and training support of anyone in real estate that wants to better understand and benefit from the website. Kerry joined the company in June 2006 and has thrived in the company developing a deep understanding of the operation of the websites and the tips and tricks needed by salespeople to optimise their listings and profiles online.

Kerry writes the helping hand blog where she provides advice and support on the area of online marketing as well as observations of the real estate industry.

 

Customer Services - Crystal Fell

Crystal's prior experience before joing the team at realestate.co.nz in 2008 includes working with NZ Customs as well as administration roles at a number of real estate office in the Auckland area, which certainly aided her understanding of the everyday issues involved in real estate industry.

Crystal has a passion for contemporary design with a minimalist look, she is certainly a city creature and prefers the city life to a rural retreat - well at this stage of her life anyway!

 

Customer Services - Katherine Jariel

Katherine joined us in July 2007 and has brought great skills and a lovely bright personality to the role; she loves the dynamic interaction with customers and enquirers.
Reflecting on her dream house, she would want one that is spacious, luxurious and above all comfortable. I believe the vital ingredient in creating an inspiring home is the architecture, the interior, the furniture and the landscape. With state of the art technologies and contemporary furniture designs as well as an eclectic mix of art and antiques from all over the world. I would like each space to speak volume about its relationship between indoor and outdoor. I'm the type who likes to live with what is outside by bringing it into the living space.

 

 

Marketing Manager - Tammy Smith

Originally from sunny California, Tammy moved to New Zealand at the start of 2010 and joined the team not long after.  Having spent over four years in London and a stint in Melbourne at Realestateview.com.au before arriving in New Zealand, Tammy brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. She has a passion for all things marketing and her role is to maintain and build the Realestate.co.nz brand and manage communications to our customers and the public.   

Outside the office Tammy is a keen footballer and not one to take on lightly - on or off the pitch!

 

 

Gavin Lloyd - Regional Account Manager

When he's not running marathons or biking around Lake Taupo, Gavin is busy building and maintaining relationships with our growing customer base in the North Island. He ensures that business owners and agents are kept up to date on all relevant aspects of our business and that any issues they are experiencing are managed effectively. Having clocked up over 38,000kms on the road after just over a year with the company, he's clearly a man on the move!

 

 

 

Strategic Business Partners

The company works closely with a number of strategic business partners:

  • DBS : provide the content management and portal integration systems to power the content of the site
  • LayerX: provide services to the data integration through database management. They also adminster the infrastructure support for the company
